Friendship Path Order Form
Begun in 1996 the Damascus Friendship Path is a cooperative community project. Its purpose is construction of a sidewalk, or FRIENDSHIP PATH, on the town's main street, Laurel Avenue. Composed of colorful hand-painted brick, glazed and fired, set between other plain brick, the Path is a permanent and meaningful record of people and events having a connection with the town.
The project is open to anyone who wishes to take part: residents, hikers and bikers on the Appalachian or Creeper Trails, citizens or businesses, past and present. Some bricks may commemorate historic structures and events connected with Damascus. Others perhaps depict families and the meaningful dates in their lives. Each brick is individually designed, painted, and fired.
INFORMATION: Friendship Path Committee, Sandy Davenport, 276-475-5054; Dave Patrick, 276-475-5416; Nancy Lamb, 276-475--3682.
